We are a fourth-generation building company based in Melbourne led by husband and wife team Gary and Kellie Knights. We specialise in residential renovations, delivering well-managed projects with a strong focus on detail, communication and site care. Where appropriate we also offer design and documentation services to support the process from the early stages.
Who We Are
CL Knights & Sons is a Melbourne based family building company with a strong focus on quality craftsmanship, thoughtful planning and clear communication.
Gary brings over 35 years of hands-on building experience to every project - a career built on precision, practical knowledge and consistent delivery. Across more than three decades in the industry, he has developed an instinctive eye for detail that only comes from years of working directly on site and managing projects from the ground up.
Kellie has been involved in the business for over 25 years and contributes an in house design and documentation perspective to smaller renovation and interior projects, helping clients make informed decisions early and create a more cohesive overall outcome.
Together, Gary and Kellie bring design and construction into closer alignment - combining buildability, functionality and attention to detail from the earliest stages of a project through to completion.
In-House Design & Documentation
For smaller renovation and interior projects, we offer in-house design and construction documentation services to help streamline the building process and create greater clarity before work begins on site.
Depending on the project, documentation may include demolition plans, floor plans, finishes, lighting and electrical layouts, reflected ceiling plans, elevations and custom cabinetry details - all carefully considered and coordinated in advance.
This level of planning helps projects run more smoothly, allows for more accurate pricing and helps minimise costly changes or delays during construction.
Because design and construction are working closely together from the beginning, design intent, functionality and buildability remain aligned throughout the project.
